Exploring the Edgewater Volunteer Fire Department

Thank you, Catlett’s Service Center & Towing, for Assistance at MVCs

Two men in safety vests work at the scene of a vehicle accident involving a black truck with a damaged front. One man sweeps debris, while the other inspects the damage. A tow truck is parked nearby.

We want to give some recognition to some people who often go unmentioned when it comes to motor vehicle collision (MVC) incidents. Yesterday, 4/10/21, we received a call for an MVC with entrapment on Mayo Rd. Three vehicles were involved with two patients sent to a trauma facility. The road was closed due to the severity of the incident and all personnel on scene worked diligently to care for the patients, gather information for investigation and quickly re-open one of the busier roads in our area. The crews from Catlett’s Service Center and Towing were on scene ready to get to work to move the vehicles and clean up debris left on the roadway the moment that the police and fire crew’s tasks were complete. They worked quickly and we were able to re-open the road in a very respectable amount of time. So thank you to these gentlemen for your dedication each and every time we need you. Your presence and your work do not go unnoticed. We would also like to take this time to remind all of our citizens, in cases such as this when traffic needs to be re-routed through a residential area, please be patient and slow down. While most people know to look for traffic, many of these families have children that play out in their yards or even in the street and are not used to the high volume of traffic. Please be safe, everyone and we wish the injured occupants a speedy recovery.
