About

Our Evolution

Since our establishment in 1946, the Woodland Beach Volunteer Fire Department, now rebranded as the Edgewater Volunteer Fire Department, has continually adapted and grown to meet the expanding needs of the Edgewater community. Our steadfast commitment to growth, adaptation, and continuous service is deeply rooted in our rich history, reflecting the unwavering bravery and dedication of our volunteers.

Four emergency vehicles with flashing lights are parked in front of the Woodland Beach Volunteer Fire Department building. The structure is brick with a large sign. Trees and more buildings are visible in the background.

Our Legacy of Bravery and Community Engagement

With over 100 volunteers and 25 career personnel, our department stands as a cornerstone of safety in Edgewater. The bravery, selflessness, and commitment shown by our current and past volunteers have been integral in protecting homes, families, and businesses throughout our community. We actively encourage community involvement through volunteering and participation in our events, where every contribution reinforces Edgewater as a safe haven.
