Membership Options

We are excited about your interest in joining the Edgewater Volunteer Fire Department! Although we do not technically get paid for volunteering, volunteering has some benefits. Some benefits include property tax credits and enrollment in the LOSAP or Length of Service Award Program. These benefits can be discussed once your membership has been approved.

Administrative Membership

Administrative members are crucial to the smooth operation of our department. They handle essential tasks such as:

Riding Membership

For those interested in direct emergency response, becoming a Riding Member involves:

Firefighters in yellow helmets and gear gather outside a smoke-filled building at night. A ladder leans against the structure, and equipment is scattered on the grass. Thick smoke billows near the roof.

Cadet Membership (Ages 13-15)

Designed to introduce young individuals to emergency services, the Cadet Program includes:

A group of eight people wearing red shirts and orange life vests are standing on a dock at night. Boats are visible in the background. Some members are smiling. The scene is dimly lit with a faint blue glow in the background.

The Auxiliary supports the department financially and administratively by:

Four women stand smiling in a kitchen filled with breakfast items, including coffee containers, orange juice, milk, and bread. One holds a bowl, and another holds a carton of milk. Wooden cabinets and a stove are in the background.
