Chief Sweeney Receives Gift of Life Award

Two men stand indoors holding a certificate labeled "Gift of Life." The man on the left wears a gray T-shirt and a cap, while the man on the right is in a white uniform. Both are smiling, and a plaque is visible in the background.

During our May general meeting, Chief Sweeney received a Gift of Life Award from Anne Arundel County Fire Department’s Operations Chief Schultz.

In January of 2021, Chief Sweeney along with crew members from Anne Arundel County Fire Department provided care to a patient that was in cardiac arrest. Cardiac arrest occurs when the heart stops beating and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is required to care for the patient.

A gift of life is awarded to providers who participate in providing these life saving measures and successfully resuscitate the patient. The patient must then be discharged from the hospital in good health.

Chief Sweeney’s hard work and knowledge makes him a valuable asset to our company and community.
