It is with deepest regret that we announce the passing of Life Member Bill Purdy on Sunday, May 7, 2023. Bill was not only a volunteer with Woodland Beach VFD but he was well known all over Anne Arundel County not only as a police sergeant but as the man with the steady hand. His artistic lettering was seen on fire and emergency apparatus all over South Anne Arundel County as well as many other commercial vehicles for over 60 years. Our condolences are with his friends and family and those whose lives he touched. Rest easy, Mr. Purdy. Elderly man wearing a white short-sleeve shirt and glasses, leaning on a surface.
