Plane Crash 6/20/21

A small plane has crashed near a chain-link fence beside a road. A fire truck with hoses on top is parked nearby, with its rear facing the camera. The truck's license plate reads “N.C.” Trees and grass surround the scene.

At 12:37pm on Sunday, June 20, 2021, Station 2 units were alerted for the small plane crash with fire at 3090 Lee Airpark Dr. Units from Stations 23, 40 and 4, Battalion Chief 3 and Safety 5 were also alerted for assistance and Haz-Mat response. Within minutes Chief 40 arrived on scene as he was in the area and confirmed a small aircraft had crashed into the fence line along side of the runway. He also confirmed there was no fire present. A single patient was evaluated by Medic 2 for any injuries and declined transport to the hospital. Units remained on scene for approximately 90 minutes at which point the scene was turned over to the police. The plane was removed approximately 2 hours post-crash. Cause of the crash is under investigation. [envira-gallery id=”2581″]
